Purpose of This Notice
BC Law Firm, P.A. (“BC Law,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to safeguarding the privacy and security of the personal information entrusted to us in the course of providing legal, document preparation, and settlement-related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect nonpublic personal information (“NPI”) obtained in connection with these services.
Although BC Law is not a financial institution or title company, we may receive NPI through our role in real estate and settlement transactions. Consistent with the principles reflected in the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (“GLBA”), we provide this notice to explain our privacy practices and the limited circumstances in which information may be shared.
Information We Collect
We may collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
- Information you provide directly,, or that is provided by your lender, real estate agent, or other participants in your transaction, such as identification information or details included in applications, intake forms, or closing documents.
- Information relating to your transaction with us or others, including documentation relevant to the preparation, review, or execution of legal or settlement documents.
- Information provided by third parties, such as consumer-reporting agencies, when relevant to the services requested.
Unless we issue an updated Privacy Policy, we will not collect additional categories of NPI beyond those described above.
Information We May Disclose
We may disclose the NPI we collect, as permitted or required by law, in order to:
- Fulfill the services you have requested;
- Coordinate with lenders, settlement agents, attorneys, or other participants involved in your transaction;
- Comply with legal, regulatory, or professional obligations.
We may also share information with nonaffiliated service providers who assist us in performing administrative or operational functions. Any such party is required to protect the confidentiality of your information and use it only for lawful purposes consistent with our instructions.
WE DO NOT SELL OR DISCLOSE YOUR NONPUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE FOR ANY PURPOSE NOT PERMITTED BY LAW.
Information Security
We restrict access to NPI to employees and contractors who require the information to perform their responsibilities. BC Law maintains physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to meet or exceed applicable legal and ethical standards to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure.
